A Partnership For Change

Since 2018, Sportscraft has proudly partnered with Thread Together, a visionary organisation dedicated to the ethical redistribution of unsold clothing to Australians in need. This partnership stems from a shared commitment to social responsibility and environmental sustainability, addressing the pressing issue of clothing waste.

Every year, vast quantities of unsold clothing risk ending up in landfill, significantly contributing to environmental degradation. Recognising this, wehave taken a proactive step by donating large quantities of stock to Thread Together.

Since the inception of this partnership, we have donated 149 cartons of clothing—items that now bring warmth, comfort, and dignity to individuals facing adversity. This initiative not only supports environmental sustainability but also ensures that clothing serves its fundamental purpose: to clothe people.

Thread Together's mission resonates deeply with Sportscraft’s values. They believe that clothing is a basic human right and work tirelessly to prevent new, unsold garments from becoming waste. By doing so, they restore hope to thousands of Australians every week, including women escaping domestic violence, homeless adults and children, and refugees. Sportscraft's contributions have been part of significant relief efforts, including support for victims of the bushfires and floods, distributing over 11,000 units of clothing when it was most needed.

With numerous prestigious brands also on board, we are immensely proud to be part of a movement that not only enriches our community but also cares for our environment. Together, we can provide essential support to those in need and significantly reduce landfill waste.

Polyester and other manufactured synthetic fibres such as nylon and elastane are derived from petroleum. As the burning of fossil fuels such as petroleum is a major contributor to climate change, we are working towards minimising our use of synthetic materials and limit it to garment functionality or performance purpose, and where possible, try to use recycled synthetics and man-made cellulosics as responsible alternatives.
