Eleanor Patterson is a female high jumper and an accomplished athlete who has set Australian and Oceanic high jump records.
She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics and won the gold medal at the 2022 World Championships. She is now preparing for one of her biggest challenges yet – competing at the Paris Olympic Games.
Eleanor is also the star of Sportscraft’s Club Sport campaign alongside fellow high jumper Brandon Starc. A curated wardrobe designed for golf, tennis and sailing, the range includes classic sporting silhouettes. Patterson models varsity cardigans, pleated skirts, cable knit sweaters, pique polos, breathable linen shorts and more. The brand has been part of Australia’s sporting community since 1914, and this campaign is no exception.
Eleanor’s family and community have had a profound influence on her athletic career. She says, “There’s so many people in my village, but certainly my family have always been so supportive.”
Eleanor grew up in a small country town in Victoria called Leongatha, with a population of only 6,000 people. From here, Eleanor had to travel over an hour to train on an athletics track. She says, “I feel very honoured to come from the country, and from Victoria.”
From the age of nine, Eleanor dreamed of competing in the Olympics. She says, “I was deeply in love with athletics, and I really wanted to go to the Olympics, not having any idea what it would take.” Now, as she prepares for Paris 2024, Eleanor carries her community’s support with her, saying;
“Stepping back on the world stage leading into the Paris Olympics, I feel like I have my family and community backing me every step of the way.”
This year, Sportscraft is designing the official Olympic opening and closing ceremony uniforms for the ninth time. From spirited matches to outdoor adventures, we’ve backed the active Australian lifestyle since 1914, and are proud to be part of this sporting community.
